Argentina : Prohibition of Certain Antibacterial Substances Used in Personal Care and Cosmetic Products

The Argentine government issued Disposition No. 13832/2016 on 21 December 2016 to ban the use of certain antibacterial substances for personal care, cosmetic and/ or perfume products. Products such as liquid soaps, bar soaps, foams, gels and rinsing products for hands and body use are also included in the prohibition. Prohibited substances and the exemption are set out in Annex I and II respectively. Affected entities is given a period of two years, for compliance, from 27 December 2016.
