Argentina : Requirements for Sworn Declaration for Product Composition of Textiles, Apparel and Footwear Products

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 615/2013 of 30 July 2013 regarding the electronic submission of Sworn Declaration for Product Composition ("DeclaraciĆ³n Jurada de ComposiciĆ³n de Productos" in Spanish) (DJCP) via the Integrated Foreign Trade System ("Sistema Integrado de Comercio" in Spanish) (SISCO), the Argentine government issued Resolution No.404/2016 on 5 December 2016 to update the requirements for the DJCP. Parties responsible for the manufacture and importation of textiles, apparel and footwear must provide a DJCP with fibre composition of the textiles and apparel; and constituent materials of the footwear. The DJCP shall be generated via the SISCO with a product identification code, which is valid for 120 days. The code must be included in all documents together with the product description for commercialisation. Entities in the chain of commercialisation shall request a duly authorised copy of the DJCP from the manufacturer or importer, as applicable.

2.The updated requirements entered into force on 4 February 2017. The DJCP must be supported by a laboratory test report on the product composition with effective from 4 June 2017. Products that are subject to the updated requirements are set out in the Annex of the Resolution.
