US : Sanctions with Respect to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea
The White House of the United States issued on 21 September 2017 a Presidential Executive Order ("Order") on imposing additional sanctions with respect to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (i.e. North Korea).
DETAILS
2.The Order imposes strong financial sanctions on, among others, persons ("person" means an individual or entity) involved in:
- at least one significant importation from or exportation to North Korea of any goods, services, or technology;
- operation in the construction, energy, financial services, fishing, information technology, manufacturing, medical, mining, textiles, or transportation industries in North Korea;
- ownership, control, or operation of any port in North Korea, including any seaport, airport, or land port of entry;
- materially assisting, sponsoring, or providing financial, material, or technological support for, or goods or services to or in support of, any person whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to the subject Order.
