Commercial Information Circular No. 471/2016

Mexico : Modifies List of Imported Products Covered by Ministry of Environment Requirements

The Mexico government has recently modified the list of imported products which must comply with certain requirements established by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources in order to be imported into Mexico.

DETAILS

2.Specifically, the modifications cover the following three aspects:

  1. modified the scope of various footwear products classified under Mexican Harmonised Tariff Schedule (HTSMX) 6403.59.02, 6403.91.01, 6403.99.03, 6403.99.04 and 6403.99.05 which are parts and by-products of wildlife and their importation or exportation is subject to the presentation of a Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) permit or certificate;
  1. added certain footwear products classified under HTSMX 6403.19.03, 6403.19.04, 6403.51.03, 6403.51.04, 6403.59.03, 6403.59.04, 6403.59.05, 6403.59.06, 6403.59.07, 6403.91.08, 6403.91.09, 6403.91.10, 6403.91.11, 6403.99.07, 6403.99.08, 6403.99.09, 6403.99.10, 6403.99.11 and 6403.99.12 to the list; and
  1. removed certain footwear products classified under HTSMX 6403.51.99, 6403.59.99, 6403.91.03, 6403.91.99 and 6403.99.02 from the list.
