Commercial Information Circular No. 457/2016

Brazil : Prohibition of Certification and Selling of Certain Toys

The National Institute of Metrology, Standardization and Industrial Quality (INMETRO) of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade of Brazil issued a Directive No. 99/2016 to prohibit the certification and selling of Aqua Dots, Bindeez toys and other toys containing chemical substance 1, 4 Butanodiol.

2.For details of the Brazilian measure and the products involved, traders are advised to consult their importers in Brazil and/or the relevant Brazilian Directive (in Portuguese) which is available at http://www.inmetro.gov.br/legislacao/rtac/pdf/RTAC002390.pdf.
