Dear Sirs,
Commercial Information Circular No. 42/2016
Mexico : New Standards for Certain Radio Communication Equipment
The Mexican government has recently issued an emergency mandatory standard (NOM-EM-016-SCFI-2015) for certain radio communication systems with spread-spectrum technology, specifically radio frequency-hopping and digital modulation devices operating in bands 902928 MHz, 24002483.5 MHz and 57255850 MHz. Since NOM-EM-016-SCFI-2015 is an emergency regulation, it will be in place for six months only from 20 October 2015, with the possibility of renewal for an additional six-month term.
DETAILS
2.The new standard requires the subject equipment (either produced in Mexico or imported) to comply with the minimum specifications, limits and test methods laid out in Technical Disposition IFT-008-2015 issued by the Federal Institute of Telecommunications. It also aims to protect consumers from potentially negative safety, health and economic effects derived from the inadequate performance of these products. For details, please refer to the relevant official notice (in Spanish) at http://dof.gob.mx/nota_detalle.php?codigo=5411872&fecha=16/10/2015.
