Argentina: The Mandatory Labelling Requirements Rescinded

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 148/2016 of 2 February 2016 regarding the establishment of a mandatory labelling verification system to verify the compliance with mandatory labelling requirements for food, beverages, cosmetics, personal care products and household cleaning products intended for human consumption and handling prior to their commercialisation in Argentina, the Argentine government issued Resolution No. 6/2016 to rescind the above mandatory labelling requirements. The Argentine government noticed that such requirements would incur excessive and reduntant procedures unecessarily hinder the commercialisation of products in Argentina.
