Argentina : Establishment of Labelling Verification System
The Ministry of Economy and Public Finance ("Ministerio de Economía y Finanzas Públicas" in Spanish) of Argentina issued Resolution No. 420/2015 on 14 October 2015 announcing its establishment of the labelling verification system ("Fiscalización de Rótulos" in Spanish/ FDR) to verify the compliance with mandatory labelling requirements for food, beverages, cosmetics, personal care products and household cleaning products intended for human consumption and handling prior to their commercialisation in Argentina.
2.Request for verification must be submitted to the Fair Trade Directorate with a sample of the label indicating information of the importer / producer, brand and/or model, product name, country of origin, description and composition of the product, components of the product, methods of production and packaging, and properties and indications for consumption, as well as all supporting information associated with the approval of the product by the National Drug, Food and Medical Technology Administration ("Administración Nacional de Medicamentos, Alimentos y Tecnología Médica" in Spanish/ ANMAT). The labelling verification procedures shall normally take 15 working days from the date of the submission unless additional information is required.
