Chile : Amendments to ATA Carnet Temporary Importation Procedures
The Chilean government issued Exempt Resolution No. 4562/2015 on 30 July 2015 to amend the temporary importation procedures under an ATA Carnet, which is an international customs document that allows temporary import and export of goods without paying duties and taxes.
2.When the ATA Carnet holder is not present during the customs clearance process, the ATA Carnet holder shall authorise a third party to represent him/ her by providing an authorisation document showing the full names, company's addresses, job titles and passport numbers of the foreign sender and the Chilean recipient; the number of ATA Carnet; the approximate arrival date of the ATA Carnet holder to Chile; and a declaration that the goods shall not be loaned, leased or used by another person.
