Commercial Information Circular No. 882/2015

Argentina : Establishment of New Requirements for Herbal Products

The National Administration of Drugs, Food and Medical Technology ("Administración Nacional de Medicamentos, Alimentos y Tecnología Médica"/ANMAT in Spanish) of Argentina issued Decrees No. 5418/2015 on 7 July 2015 to establish new requirements for herbal products.

2.Commercialisation, sale, import and export, manufacturing, fractioning and distribution of herbal drugs, herbal drugs preparations, herbal medicines, and individual and legal entities participating in these activities are required to obtain prior authorisation from ANMAT. Herbal medicines and traditional herbal medicines shall be registered in ANMAT. Definitions of herbal medicines and traditional herbal medicines are established for registration purposes.
