Dear Sirs,

Commercial Information Circular No. 33/2015

Chile : Labeling Requirements and Test Protocol for Certain Heaters

The Chilean government issued Exempt Resolution No. 47/2014 on 21 November 2014 to establish new energy consumption labelling requirements for certain heaters fuelled by firewood. The label must contain the technical specifications set out in Exempt Resolution No. 81/2014 of 27 October 2014, and with a similar structure as that shown in Exempt Resolution No. 47/2014.

2.Separately, further to Commercial Information Circular No. 866/2012 of 25 October 2012 regarding the establishment of test protocol for certain heaters fuelled by firewood or any other wood product with a power of 25 kilowatts or less, the Chilean government issued Exempt Resolution No. 5637/2014 on 21 November 2014 to provisionally authorise, for a period of up to two years, conformity certification bodies and test laboratories to test and certify such heaters, provided that they have already started the applicable accreditation process before the National Institute of Standardisation ("Instituto Nacional de Normalización" in Spanish).

3.For details, traders are advised to consult their importers in Chile and/or the relevant Chilean Exempt Resolutions (in Spanish), which are available at:
