Argentina : Amendment of Registration Requirements for Cleaning Products
The National Administration of Drugs, Food and Medical Technology ("Administración Nacional de Medicamentos, Alimentos y Tecnología Médica"/ANMAT in Spanish) of Argentina issued Decree No. 1247/2015 on 3 February 2015 to amend the registration requirements for "Risk I" household cleaning products.
2.Risk I cleaning products must be labelled with the following mandatory information:
- its commercial name or brand;
- product name;
- net content;
- name, address and phone number of the company holding the registration;
- identification number of all facilities that participated in the production of the product;
- internal procedure number and year;
- country of origin;
- incompatibility with any material, whenever applicable;
- period of validity, accompanied by manufacture date or expiry date;
- certain warning statements;
- components;
- direction for use;
- precautions;
- batch or lot number;
- storage instructions; and
- other information.
3.Other amendments include:
- the maximum net content limit for free sale goods is increased from 5L/kg to 10 L/kg;
- liquid products with a net content higher than 8 litres must have a container design that facilitates their use; and
- products intended exclusively for use in the food sector must include in the labels the language "for use in the Food Industry" ("para ser usado en la Industria Alimenticia" (in Spanish)).
