US : EPA's Significant New Use Rule for Pentane, 1,1,1,2,3,3-hexafluoro-4-(1,1,2,3,3,3-hexafluoropropoxy)
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has promulgated the final rule for imposing import restrictions on the chemical substance Pentane, 1,1,1,2,3,3-hexafluoro-4-(1,1,2,3,3,3-hexafluoropropoxy), which was the subject of a pre-manufacture notice. The effective date of the final rule is 6 April 2015.
DETAILS
2.Under the new rule, persons who intend to manufacture (including import) this substance for an activity that is designed as a significant new use by this rule to notify EPA at least 90 days before commencing that activity. This required notification would provide EPA with the opportunity to evaluate the intended use and, if necessary, to prohibit or limit that activity before it occurs.
