Commercial Information Circular No. 170/2015

Chile : Conformity Certification Requirements for Certain Hot Water Storage Heaters, Various Electric Products and Electric Ovens

The Chilean government issued Exempt Resolutions No. 5632/2014, No. 5748/2014, and No. 5838/2014 on 6 January 2015 to approve conformity certification requirements for (a) hot water storage heaters; (b) various electric products; and (c) electric ovens respectively. Importers, retailers and domestic manufacturers of the concerned products must have their conformity certificates issued in accordance with the required protocols no later than the following effective dates:

2.The electric products covered in (b) above include: (i) cooking pans; (ii) coffee makers; (iii) express coffee makers; (iv) livestock feed heaters; (v) feeding bottle heaters; (vi) milk heaters; (vii) sterilised egg cookers, (viii) wash boilers; (ix) certain kettles with a nominal capacity of up to 10 litres, (x) pots; (xi) pressure cookers; (xii) tea makers with a nominal capacity of up to 10 litres; and (xiii) yoghurt makers.
