Commercial Information Circular No. 168/2015

Chile : Energy Consumption Labelling Requirements for Various Products

The Chilean government issued Exempt Resolutions No. 69/2014, No. 70/2014, No. 71/2014, and No. 72/2014 on 10 January 2015 to approve the energy consumption labelling requirements for the following products: (a) gas-fuelled household cooking appliances; (b) washing machines; (c) tungsten halogen lamps for household use and general lighting; and (d) gas-fuelled instantaneous water heaters for household use respectively.

2. The four Exempt Resolutions established energy consumption labelling requirements for respective products, such as scope and application; test methods; requirements, performance and energy efficiency classes; sampling and tolerances; and labelling requirements. The subject products should comply with the following test protocols:

(a) gas-fuelled household cooking appliances PC No. 7/1-2
(b) washing machines PE No. 1/06/2
(c) tungsten halogen lamps for household use and general lighting PE No. 5/15/2
(d) gas-fuelled instantaneous water heaters for household use PC No. 6/1-2
