Brazil : Conformity Certification Requirements for Televisions, Electric Ovens and Automotive Components
The National Institute of Metrology, Standardization and Industrial Quality (INMETRO) of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade of Brazil issued Decrees No. 563/2014 and 566/2014 on 23 December 2014, Decree No. 29/2015 on 22 January 2015 to modify the conformity certifcation requirements for certain (a) televisions; (b) electric ovens; and (c) automotive components.
(a) Certain Televisions
The INMETRO issued Decree No. 563/2014 to modify the conformity certification requirements for certain televisions with cathode ray tube, plasma screens, LCD and LED televisions panels. Devices above 65 inches and below 13 inches are excluded from the requirements. The compliance dates of the requirements are revised:

| (i) | 24 December 2015 | manufacture and import of such products |
| (ii) | 24 June 2016 | domestic sale of such products by manufacturers and importers |
| (iii) | 24 December 2016 | domestic sale of such products by all other parties |
(b) Certain Electric Ovens
The INMETRO issued Decree No. 566/2014 to amend in various ways the conformity assessment requirements for commercial electric ovens
(c) Certain Automotive Components
Further to Commercial Information Circular (CIC) No. 509/2011 of 24 August 2011, the INMETRO issued Decree No. 29/2015 to extend until 1 January 2017 for domestic sale of certain automotive components by all parties to fully comply with the conformity certifications requirements in accordance with Decree No. 301/2011 for certain automotive parts. The extension of deadline does not apply to manufacturers and importers.
Further to CIC No. 710/2013 of 2 September 2013, the INMETRO also amended the conformity assessment requirements established under Decree No. 268/2013 for certain steering terminals, steering rods, connection bars and axial terminals for motor vehicles.
