Mexico : Postponement of Ban on 40 and 60 Watt Incandescent Lamps
Mexico's Ministry of Energy recently issued a regulation that postponed the entry into force of prohibition on the sale in Mexico of certain 40 and 60 watt incandescent lamps, from 31 December 2013 to 31 December 2014.
DETAILS
2.The regulation amended the Official Mexican Standard NOM-028-ENER-2010 issued in December 2010. Other than postponing the ban on 40 and 60 watt incandescent lamps, it also postponed the entry into force of the phase 2 and phase 3 minimum energy efficiency standards for incandescent, halogen and self-ballasted compact fluorescent lamps, to 1 January 2019 and 1 January 2020 respectively.
