Commercial Information Circular No. 890/2014

Brazil : Extension of Compliance Date for Solar Water Heating Equipment and Children's High Chairs

Further to Commercial Information Circulars No. 732/2012 of 11 September 2012 and No. 207/2013 of 8 March 2013 regarding the establishment of conformity certification requirements for solar water heating equipment and technical standard for children's high chairs respectively, the National Institute of Metrology, Standardization and Industrial Quality (INMETRO) of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC) of Brazil issued Decrees No. 358/2014 and No. 359/2014 on 1 August 2014 to amend the compliance dates for solar water heating equipment and children's high chairs respectively as follows:

  1. Solar Water Heating Equipment

      Compliance Date Application Criteria
    (i) 10 September 2015 manufacture and import of such products
    (ii) 10 March 2016 domestic sale of such products by manufacturers and importers
    (iii) 10 March 2017 domestic sale of such products by all other parties
  2. Children's High Chairs 

The technical standard that all metal parts and components of children's high chairs be either corrosion-resistant or protected against corrosion will be required for conformity certification purposes after 10 July 2015.
