Mexico : New Standards for Vertical Pumps, Industrial Thermal Insulation and Non-residential Lighting Systems

The Mexican government has recently issued new mandatory standards for vertical pumps, industrial thermal insulation and non-residential lighting systems under NOM-001-ENER-2014/ NOM-009-ENER-2014/ NOM-007-ENER-2014.

DETAILS

2.For vertical pumps, there are new minimum energy efficiency requirements for vertical turbine pumps with an external vertical electric motor, used for clean water management. For industrial thermal insulation, there are new maximum heat flux density standards and associated test methods for new pipes and industrial equipment that operate at high and low temperatures. There are also new minimum energy efficiency requirements for indoor and outdoor lighting systems for non-residential building with a total connected load of at least three kilowatts. The new standards for vertical pumps, industrial thermal insulation and non-residential lighting systems will enter into force on 4 November 2014, 6 December 2014 and 5 December 2014 respectively.
