Chile : Implementation of Electronic Manifest System for Sea Cargo
Pursuant to the Commercial Information Circulars No. 964/2012 of 23 November 2012, No. 939/2013 of 25 November 2013, No. 238/2014 of 14 March 2014, and No. 605/2014 of 25 June 2014 regarding the implementation of electronic manifest system for sea cargo in Chile, the Chilean government issued Exempt Resolution No. 4054/2014 on 18 July 2014 to add the port of Arica which started accepting electronic manifest from 1 August 2014.
2.For the transitional period of the first three months, paper manifest must also be submitted to the port of Arica. Prior approval from the Chilean customs must be obtained for any clarifications made to the bills of lading transmitted to the electronic system during the transitional period.
