Commercial Information Circular No. 77/2014

Brazil : Modification of Import Tariffs and Establishment of Tariff Rate Quotas on Various Products

The Brazilian government has modified the import tariffs of a number of products, and established tariff rate quotas on certain imports. A summary of the changes is set out as follows:

  1. Tariff rate quotas for the following products have been set up. Import within the quota would benefit from a 12-month reduced duty of 2% from 26 November 2013:

  1. Certain blood products classified under NCM codes 3002.10.39 Ex 028, Ex 029 and Ex 030, and 3004.90.99 Ex 021 would benefit from duty-free treatment from 5 December 2013.
  1. Certain blood products classified under NCM code 3002.10.39 Ex 031would benefit from duty-free treatment from 1 January 2014.
  1. Certain anaesthetic containing Sevoflurane classified under NCM code 3004.90.99 would be subject to the tariff rate of 8% from 5 December 2013.
  1. Certain capital goods classified in NCM chapters 84-85 and 90 will benefit from a reduced duty of 2% from 9 December 2013 until 31 December 2014.
