Brazil : Technical Requirements for Certain Ceramic Components for Masonry
The National Institute of Metrology, Standardization and Industrial Quality (INMETRO) of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade of Brazil issued Decree No. 558/2013 on 19 November 2013 to establish the technical requirements for certain ceramic components for masonry, as well as the method to calculate the dimensions.
2.The technical requirements apply to sealing ceramic structural blocks, ceramic channels, solid and perforated ceramic bricks, hollow components, and other ceramic components. The compliance date for the technical requirements are:
| Compliance Date | Application Criteria | |
| (i) | 22 November 2014 | manufacture and import of such products |
| (ii) | 22 May 2015 | domestic sale of such products by manufacturers and importers |
| (iii) | 22 November 2015 |
domestic sale of such products by all other parties
