US : Antidumping Action against Silica Bricks and Shapes from the Mainland of China : Negative Injury Determination

The US International Trade Commission (ITC) announced in the Federal Register (FR) notice of 16 January 2014 its negative determination in the antidumping duty investigations against silica bricks and shapes from the Mainland of China. DETAILS

2.The trade was informed via Commercial Information Circular (CIC) No. 961/2012 that the ITC announced on 23 November 2012 the institution of antidumping duty investigations to determine whether there was a reasonable indication that an industry in the US was materially injured or threatened with material injury, or the establishment of an industry in the US was materially retarded, by reason of imports of silica bricks and shapes from the Mainland of China that were alleged to be sold in the US at less than fair value.

3.The ITC announced its finding that an industry in the US was not materially injured or threatened with material injury, and the establishment of an industry in the US was not materially retarded by reason of imports from the Mainland of China of silica bricks and shapes that had been found by the Department of Commerce (DoC) to be sold in the US at less than fair value. The trade was informed via CIC No. 448/2013 of DoC's preliminary affirmative sales at less than fair value determination. As a result of ITC's negative injury determination, this investigation has been terminated and no antidumping or countervailing duty orders will be issued.
