Commercial Information Circular No. 689/2014
Brazil : Amendments to Technical Requirements and Extension of Compliance Dates for Electric Wires, Cables and Cords
Pursuant to Commercial Information Circulars No. 46/2013 and No. 160/2013 of 15 January 2013 and 21 February 2013 respectively that the National Institute of Metrology, Standardization and Industrial Quality (INMETRO) of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC) of Brazil established technical requirements and conformity certification requirements for electric wires, cables and cords, the INMETRO issued Decree No. 260/2014 on 5 June 2014 to amend certain technical requirements and conformity certification requirements, and extend the compliance date for six months as follows:
| Compliance Date | Application Criteria | |
| (i) | 7 December 2014 | manufacture and import of such products |
| (ii) | 7 June 2015 | domestic sale of such products by manufacturers and importers |
| (iii) | 7 June 2016 | domestic sale of such products by all other parties |
