Dear Sirs,

Commercial Information Circular No. 663/2014

US : Countervailing Action against Carbon and Certain Alloy Steel Wire Rod from the Mainland of China : Preliminary Affirmative Countervailing Duty Determination

The US Department of Commerce (DoC) announced in the Federal Register (FR) notice of 8 July 2014 the preliminary affirmative determination that countervailable subsidies were being provided to producers and exporters of carbon and certain alloy steel wire rod from the Mainland of China. The countervailing duty rates were found to be 10.30% - 81.36%. The FR notice is available at: http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2014-07-08/pdf/2014-15949.pdf.

If the final determination of the DoC is affirmative, the ITC will make its final determination on whether an industry in the US is materially injured, or threatened with material injury, by reason of imports of carbon and certain alloy steel wire rod from the Mainland of China within 45 days after the DoC's final determination.
