Commercial Information Circular No. 621/2014

US : Adjustment to the Value of Imported Cotton for Assessment Calculation


This circular supersedes Commercial Information Circular no. 530/2013 of 4 July 2013.

2.  The US Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) issued a direct final rule in the Federal Register (FR) of 26 June 2014 to lower the value assigned to import cotton for the purposes of calculating supplemental assessments. 

3.  The value assigned to imported cotton for supplemental assessment calculation, currently at US$0.012876 per kilogram, will be reduced to US$0.012728 per kilogram with effect from 25 August 2014.

4.  Separately, this direct final rule will also amend the Import Assessment Table, which indicates the total assessment rate ($ per kilogram) due for each US Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS) number subject to assessment.
