Commercial Information Circular No. 606/2014

Ecuador : Modification of Import Tariffs on Various Products

The Ecuadorian government has modified the import tariff of various products. A summary of the changes is set out as follows:

  1. Import tariffs of certain bikes valued at US$400 or less classified under Harmonized Tariff Schedule of Ecuador (HTSEC) code 8712.00.00 will be subject to the normal tariff rate of 30% with effect from 1 May 2014.
  2. Import tariffs of certain (bicycle) saddles classified under HTSEC code 8714.95.00, and steel bike frames, rigid forks, handlebars and seat posts under HTSEC codes 8714.91.00 and 8714.99.00 will be subject to the tariff rate of 25% with effect from 1 May 2014.
  3. Import tariffs of certain electric induction stoves complete knock down (CKD) classified under HTSEC code 8516.60.20.21 will benefit from duty-free treatment from 30 April 2014 till 30 November 2014.
