Brazil : Conformity Certification Requirements for Clothes Irons

Pursuant to Commercial Information Circular No. 133/2010 of 25 March 2010 that the National Institute of Metrology, Standardization and Industrial Quality (INMETRO) of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC) of Brazil established the conformity certification requirements for clothes irons, the INMETRO issued Decree No. 15/2014 on 10 January 2014 to amend certain conformity certification requirements, and extend the compliance date for eight months.

2.With effect from 1 October 2014, manufacturers and importers will not be allowed to sell clothes irons unless the subject product complies with the standard ABNT NBR NM IEC 60335-2-3, and the sale of non-compliant products by other parties will be banned from 1 July 2015.
