Commercial Information Circular No. 286/2014

US : CPSC Issued Safety Standard for Soft Infant and Toddler Carriers

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced in the Federal Register (FR) of 28 March 2014 a final rule issuing a safety standard for soft infant and toddler carriers.

2.The trade had been informed vide Commercial Information Circular no. 269/2013 of 8 April 2013 of CPSC's proposed safety standard for soft infant and toddler carriers. The new safety standard incorporates by reference the voluntary standard developed by ASTM International, ASTM F2236-14, "Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Soft Infant and Toddler Carriers", without alteration. The standard will become effective on 29 September 2014.
