Chile : Implementation of Electronic Manifest System for Sea Cargo
Pursuant to the Commercial Information Circulars No. 964/2012 of 23 November 2012 and No. 939/2013 of 25 November 2013 regarding the implementation of electronic manifest system for sea cargo in Chile, the Chilean government issued Exempt Resolution No. 13880/2013 on 20 December 2013 to add the port of Chañaral and Coquimbo which started accepting electronic manifest on 1 January 2014.
2.For the transitional period of the first three months, paper manifest must also be submitted to the port of Chañaral and Coquimbo. Prior approval from the Chilean customs must be obtained for any clarifications made to the bills of lading transmitted to the electronic system during the transitional period.
