Mexico : Tariff Reduction for Certain Textiles, Clothing and Footwear Products
The Mexican government published in the Official Gazette (Diario Oficial de la Federación) of 26 December 2013 a decree amending its tariff reduction programme on certain textiles, clothing and footwear products.
DETAILS
2.The trade was informed via Commercial Information Circular (CIC) No. 587/2010 of 16 December 2010 of the phased implementation of the Mexican government's tariff reduction programme on a range of products. The trade was also informed via CIC no. 130/2013 of 5 February 2013 that the reduction of tariffs on a number of textiles, clothing and footwear items originally scheduled for 1 January 2013 was delayed to 1 January 2014. That notwithstanding, this tariff reduction is again postponed for an additional 12-month, and is now scheduled to take place on 1 January 2015.
3.The decree also made other changes to the Mexican tariff schedule and created a new tariff breakout for certain electrical, electronic or mechanical games.
