Commercial Information Circular No. 1011/2014
Argentina: Use of Foreign Exchange for Importation
The Central Bank of Argentina issued a Circular No. 1-732/2014 on 16 October 2014 to modify the Annex to Communication "A" 5274 of 30 January 2012 regarding the shortening of period for advance payment prior to imports.
2. The Circular requires companies that have been allocated foreign exchange to carry out a particular importation to complete the importation within 120 days from the date of approval of the foreign exchange allocation. The timeline for import of capital goods remains at 365 days. If the importation is not carried out within the designated period, the importer may request for an extension from the Central Bank of Argentina.
