Commercial Information Circular No. 730/2012
Brazil : Customs Clearance Time during Strikes
The Brazilian Government issued Decrees No. 260/2012 and No. 7777/2012 in July 2012 on the administration of customs clearance in case of strikes, or other incidents delaying the procedures. Importers may call for release of goods if the customs clearance time is 30% longer than the average customs clearance time in the first six months of 2012. The two Decrees took effect on 26 July 2012 and 24 July 2012 respectively.
