Dear Sirs,
Commercial Information Circular No. 378/2010
US : EPA's Action Plan on Benzidine dyes, Hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD) and Nonylphenol (NP)/Nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPEs)
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released on 18 August 2010 the action plans to address the potential health risks of benzidine dyes, hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD) and nonylphenol (NP)/nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPEs). These chemicals are widely used in both consumer and industrial applications, including dyes, flame retardants, and industrial laundry detergents. The plans identify a range of actions the agency is considering under the US Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). The action plans are available at the website of the EPA at http://www.epa.gov/oppt/existingchemicals/pubs/ecactionpln.html.
