US : Modification of Tariff Classifications of Men's Sleepwear Pants and A Certain Textile Drawstring Bag
The US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) published in the Customs Bulletin and Decisions (Vol. 44, No. 22) of 26 May 2010 notices on the modification of two rulings relating to the tariff classification of men's sleepwear pants and a certain textile drawstring bag. CBP also revoked any treatment previously accorded by CBP to substantially identical transactions. The modifications are effective for merchandise entered or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption on or after 26 July 2010.

After review, the CBP modified New York Ruling Letters (NY) N025623 and N020461 relating to the tariff classification of two styles men’s sleepwear pants and a polyester bag with a cotton drawstring respectively under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS). The changes in classification will affect the applicable tariff rates of relevant products. The modified classification under the HTSUS for the relevant products and the respective 2010 tariff rates are as follows:
