Commercial Information Circular No. 571/2008
Canada : Changed Enforcement Date of Ontario Regulation 218/01 (Upholstered and Stuffed Articles) for Padded Undergarments
The trade was informed via Commercial Information Circular No. 417/2008 that the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) announced in the Director's Bulletin dated 1 January 2008 that it is expected that all padded undergarments and those involved in their manufacture, importation, distribution or retailing will be in full compliance with the requirement of the Ontario Regulation 218/01 (Upholstered and Stuffed Articles) by 1 January 2009. We have learnt from the Director's Bulletin dated 8 October 2008 that the TSSA has changed the effective date for the enforcement of the above requirement to 1 July 2009. A copy (pdf format) of the Director's Bulletin is appended to this circular for reference.
