US : Informed Compliance Publication on Gloves, Mittens and Mitts

The US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has recently reviewed without making change to the informed compliance publication (ICP) entitled "What Every Member of the Trade Community Should Know About: Gloves, Mittens and Mitts, Not Knitted or Crocheted, Under the HTSUS" issued in July 2006. The ICP provides a brief guide for the classification of gloves, mittens and mitts under the US Harmonized Tariff Schedules (HTSUS). It also provides definitions for terms used in the glove trade and useful information on glove marking requirements as well as the responsibilities that need to be fulfilled by importers.

2. Because of the bulkiness of the ICP, it is not appended to this circular. Interested parties may download the ICP from the CBP's website at:

Commercial Information Circular No. 318/2006 dated 16 August 2006 is hereby superceded.
