Free Trade Agreement between Hong Kong, China and the
Member States of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA)
Exporting Goods Originating in Hong Kong to the EFTA States - Entry into Force of the Agreement between Hong Kong and Iceland
Introduction
Further to the Certificate of Origin Circular No. 6/2012 dated 30 August 2012 on exporting goods originating in Hong Kong to EFTA States (namely Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland) under the Free Trade Agreement between Hong Kong, China and the Member States of the EFTA ("Agreement"), this Circular informs traders of the entry into force of the Agreement between Hong Kong and Iceland.
Entry into Force of the Agreement between Hong Kong and Iceland
2. The Circular dated 30 August 2012 informs traders that the Agreement between Hong Kong, Switzerland and Liechtenstein will enter into force on 1 October 2012. Subsequent to the issuance of the Circular, notification from EFTA was received confirming that necessary internal procedures have also been completed for the Agreement between Hong Kong and Iceland to enter into force on 1 October 2012. The Agreement between Hong Kong and Norway shall enter into force on a date to be separately announced.
3. Please be reminded to refer to the rules of origin, document requirements, record keeping requirements and other relevant issues for exporting goods originating in Hong Kong to the EFTA States under the Agreement as set out in the Circular dated 30 August 2012.
