TRADE AND INDUSTRY DEPARTMENT CIRCULAR
UNITED NATIONS SANCTIONS AGAINST
THE DEMOCRATIC PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF KOREA
This is to announce for general information that the United Nations Security Council adopted United Nations Security Council Resolutions (UNSCRs) 2270, 2321, 2371 and 2375 to implement a range of sanction measures against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (i.e. North Korea) on 2 March 2016, 30 November 2016, 5 August 2017 and 11 September 2017 respectively.
2.The above UNSCRs can be viewed at (https://www.un.org/sc/suborg/en/sanctions/1718/resolutions).
3.The above UNSCRs prohibit, among others, the supply, sale and transfer to and/or the procurement from North Korea of certain items. Such prohibited items and the relevant extracts from the UNSCRs concerned are set out in the Annex (pdf format).
WARNING
4.The Regulation to implement the sanction measures will be made under the United Nations Sanctions Ordinance (Cap. 537). You are advised to take the sanction measures into account when conducting and planning your business. If you are in doubt about any of the sanction measures in the UNSCRs and their effect on your organization’s activities, you may find it prudent to seek legal advice.
