Seminar for SMEs on "Exploring Business Opportunities and Building Brands Through Licensing"

The Support and Consultation Centre for SMEs (SUCCESS) of the Trade and Industry Department will hold a seminar entitled "Exploring Business Opportunities and Building Brands Through Licensing" on February 23 (Thursday). The seminar will introduce the business model of licensing and explore how SMEs can make use of intellectual property and licensing to open up new business opportunities and build their brands.

Speakers include the Manager of the Intellectual Property Centre of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, Dr Alex Lau; Co-founder and Honorary Treasurer of the Asian Licensing Association as well as Founder and President of Toy2R Group Limited, Dr Raymond Choy; Co-founder and Vice Chairman of the Asian Licensing Association, Mr Roger Chan; and the Founding Chairman of the Asian Licensing Association and Managing Director of Regent Lane Limited, Dr Toby Chan. The guest speakers will introduce the protective measures for pursuing a licensing business and points to note for drafting licensing provisions. They will also share their success stories on exploring business opportunities through licensing and some smart tips on effective licensing.

The seminar will be held at 2.30pm in the Lecture Theatre, G/F, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay (MTR Tin Hau station, exit B). The seminar will be conducted in Cantonese. Admission is free.
