Results of Basic Law photo competition announced

The following is issued on behalf of the Working Group on Industrial, Commercial and Professional Sectors under the Basic Law Promotion Steering Committee:

The Basic Law photo competition for the industrial, commercial and professional sectors was successfully concluded. The awards presentation ceremony was held this afternoon (April 28) at the Hong Kong Central Library.

This competition was organised by the Working Group on Industrial, Commercial and Professional Sectors under the Basic Law Promotion Steering Committee. Its purpose was to enhance the understanding and interest in the Basic Law among the industrial, commercial and professional sectors.

The winner, first runner-up and second runner-up were True Face Pro Lab, Lee Kum Kee Co., Ltd. and The Hong Kong Medicine Dealers' Guild respectively. The Working Group has also presented eight Certificates of Merit.

"We are glad to see that the entries have clearly demonstrated the close relationship between the development of the industrial, commercial and professional sectors in Hong Kong and the implementation of the Basic Law. The Working Group has organised various promotional activities with a view to further enhancing the trade's understanding of the Basic Law," the Working Group's spokesman said.

A seminar was also organised on the same day to discuss the business opportunities generated by the Basic Law. The speakers shared their insights on the offshore development of the renminbi in Hong Kong, and how to introduce Hong Kong brands to the Mainland market. The seminar was co-organised by the Working Group, the Trade and Industry Department and the Federation of Hong Kong Industries.
