High-level conference on "Optimising Branding Strategies to Venture into the Mainland Consumer Market"

A high-level conference entitled "Optimising Branding Strategies to Venture into the Mainland Consumer Market" will be held on December 2 (Thursday). Well-known enterprises from the Mainland and Hong Kong will share with small and medium enterprises (SMEs) their strategies and practical experience on branding, including tips on successfully building brands to tap into the Mainland market.

The conference is jointly organised by the Trade and Industry Department and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). It will consist of a keynote speech session and two concurrent breakout sessions. The two breakout sessions will cover topics related to intellectual property right protection in the Mainland, and Mainland distribution channels: self-owned, franchise and consignment and the risks involved.

Guest speakers include Director and General Manager - PRC of Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Co Ltd, Mr Chan Sai Cheong; Executive Director and Executive Chairman of PRC Operation of Giordano International Ltd, Mr Bernard Mah; founder of the "Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf", Mr Jonathan So; Attorney-at-Law and Patent Agent of Rouse China, Ms Weng Li; Partner of Yu & Partners, Ms Adelaide Yu; Managing Director of ColArt Hong Kong Ltd, Mr Gerry Ma; Chief Executive Officer of Koyo Group Ltd, Mr Koyo William Cheung; and General Manager of Galaxy Real Estate Management Co Ltd, Dr Leo Yeung.

This conference is one of the highlights of the World SME Expo. The annual expo aims to provide a platform for service providers to promote their services and business solutions to SMEs, and to help SMEs explore international market opportunities.

The conference will be held on December 2 from 2pm to 6pm in Seminar Room E, Hall 1, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. It will be conducted in Cantonese and Putonghua. Admission is free and seats will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
