High-level Conference on "Brand-building - Opening up the Ten Trillion Mainland Domestic Market"

The Trade and Industry Department and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will jointly organise a high-level conference entitled "Brand-building - Opening up the Ten Trillion Mainland Domestic Market" on December 3 (Thursday).

The conference brings together renowned entrepreneurs and industry players from the Mainland and Hong Kong to share with small and medium enterprises (SMEs) their strategies and successful experience in tapping the Mainland market, including how to build successful brands.

The Director-General of Trade and Industry will deliver opening remarks at the conference, which will be divided into two sessions. In the first session, entrepreneurs from leading Mainland enterprises, including Chairman of Lilang (China) Company Ltd, Mr Wang Dong-Xing, will deliver keynote speeches on "Hot Market, Blue Ocean Strategy". This will be followed by a discussion session in which Hong Kong entrepreneurs will speak on the Mainland's domestic market developments, opportunities and strategies. Speakers will include Chief Executive Officer of Onlen Fairyland (HK) Co Ltd, Mr Eddie Lam; Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of WE Marketing Group, Ms Viveca Chan; Director of Universe Watch Trading Company Ltd, Mr Kenneth Wong, and Executive Director of Hung Fook Tong Holdings Ltd, Mr Ricky Szeto.

The conference will also have two breakout workshops, during which speakers will explore the distribution channels in the Mainland's domestic market, and update participants on issues related to the Mainland's taxation, customs and labour laws. Guest speakers will include representatives from INSITE Asset Management Group Ltd, Taobao.com, HKTDC, KPMG, Jones Day, and PricewaterhouseCooper.

This conference is one of the highlights of the HKTDC World SME Expo. The annual expo aims to provide a platform for service providers to promote their services and business solutions to SMEs, and help SMEs explore international market opportunities.

The conference will be held on December 3 from 2pm to 6pm in Seminar Room F, Hall 1, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. It will be conducted in Putonghua and Cantonese. Admission is free.
