TID to participate in World SME Expo

The Trade and Industry Department will participate in "The 8th HKTDC World SME Expo" at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from December 10-12.

The annual expo, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, aims to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) explore international market opportunities, and provide a platform for service providers to promote their services and business solutions to SMEs.

Being one of the supporting organisations, the Trade and Industry Department will set up exhibition booths (at Hall 1) to showcase its services related to SMEs, including SME Funding Schemes, the Support and Consultation Centre for SMEs (SUCCESS), Hong Kong Awards for Industries, Working Group on Industrial, Commercial and Professional Sectors under the Basic Law Promotion Steering Committee, and the Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement.

During the Expo, the department will hold a seminar entitled "Meeting New Challenges with Support for SMEs", to introduce the SME Funding Schemes and the services provided by SUCCESS. The seminar will be held on Friday (December 12) at 12.30pm. 

The department will also provide on-the-spot "Meet-the-Advisers" Business Advisory Service to give SMEs free consultation on business start-up, marketing, legal, and accounting/financing matters.
