The Myth of SMEs Success seminar to be held on December 14
Friday, December 1, 2006

The Support and Consultation Centre for SMEs (SUCCESS) of the Trade and Industry Department will hold a seminar entitled "The Myth of SMEs' Success" on December 14 (Thursday) to look into common problems encountered by SMEs and suggest feasible solutions.

SMEs sometimes encounter difficulties in running the business and feel puzzled along the path to success. Some experts said quite a number of business start-ups failed within a short time, with 40% closed in the first year and 80% in five years. However, SMEs are able to survive and hold a market share as long as they manage to adopt the right way of doing business.

Speakers of the seminar, Miss Patricia Yip and Mr Victor Leung, both are Directors and Consultants of BusinessGROWTH Consulting Ltd, will talk about topics on "Entrepreneurial mindset", "From chaos to growth" and "Principles and tools of growing a business successfully". Three entrepreneurs will also share their insights and experiences in starting and operating the business.

The seminar will be held from 2.30pm to 5.30pm at the Lecture Theatre, Ground Floor, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong (MTR Tin Hau Station Exit B).It will be conducted in Cantonese with free admission. Interested parties are requested to register with SUCCESS in advance as seats will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Please visit SUCCESS website (http://www.success.tid.gov.hk) for details of the seminar and for online registration. Registration form can also be downloaded from SUCCESS website. Please fax completed registration form to SUCCESS (2375 7105). Deadline for registration is December 11 (Monday) or when all seats are allocated, whichever is earlier.
