SME seminar on Copyright

The Support and Consultation Centre for SMEs (SUCCESS) of the Trade and Industry Department will hold a seminar on April 10 to introduce copyright issues that are of particular concern to SMEs and how the Government’s latest proposals to amend the Copyright Ordinance would affect them. 

The seminar will be held from 2.30pm to 4.15pm at the Lecture Theatre, G/F, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong (MTR Tin Hau Station Exit B).

A representative from the Intellectual Property Department will speak on general copyright issues. These include acts restricted by copyright, existing business end-user liabilities, existing liabilities related to parallel importation, and licensing schemes promulgated by copyright licensing bodies. A representative from the Commerce, Industry and Technology Bureau will explain the Copyright (Amendment) Bill 2006. 

The seminar will be conducted in Cantonese. Admission is free. Interested parties are requested to register with SUCCESS by April 8 as seats will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
