Procedures to renew Hong Kong Service Supplier Certificates announced
Tuesday, August 9, 2005
The Trade and Industry Department (TID) announced today (August 9) the renewal procedures regarding certificates of Hong Kong Service Supplier (HKSS) by eligible Hong Kong service suppliers under the Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA).
A TID spokesman said the department had been providing one-stop HKSS certification and enquiry services under CEPA since October 2003. "The HKSS certificates issued are valid for two years. To facilitate those eligible HKSSs that would like to extend the validity of their HKSS certificates, the TID will provide renewal services for certificates that will expire soon," he said.
"Renewal applications can be submitted to the TID within 60 days of their certificates expiring and 180 days after the date of expiry. Eligible HKSSs will only need to follow simple and convenient procedures by submitting to TID a statutory declaration and some general supporting documents. If the documents submitted are in order, the TID will issue a renewed certificate within five working days," the spokesman added.
The public can download the application procedures for renewing HKSS certificates from the "CEPA Trade in Services" webpage on the TID's website (www.tid.gov.hk/english/cepa/trade_services.html). For enquiries, please contact the Hong Kong Service Supplier Certification Section of the TID at:
