SME newsletter "the Pulse" released Tuesday, September 28, 2004


The fourth issue of the SME newsletter "The Pulse", published by the Trade and Industry Department (TID), has been released today (Sept 28). Copies of the newsletter are available free at TID's Support and Consultation Centre for SMEs (SUCCESS), major trade and industrial support organisations, and selected public libraries.

The following topics of interest will be featured in the newsletter:
- further trade liberalisation under CEPA II;
- advice on how to operate an individually owned store in the Mainland;
- a young industrialist in information technology sharing his story of success;
- new business opportunities through caring the elderly; and
- enhancing SMEs' competitiveness and efficiency through the 5-S practice and automation system.

The newsletter, available in Chinese and published every six months, aims to help SMEs keep pace with the business world and update them with the Government's SME support measures and services. The newsletter can also be accessed through SUCCESS website (www.success.tid.gov.hk).
