Second issue of the SME newsletter "the Pulse is released

The Trade and Industry Department (TID) announced today (August 18) the release of the second issue of the SME newsletter "the Pulse". Copies of the newsletter are available free at TID's Support and Consultation Centre for SMEs (SUCCESS), major trade and industrial associations and industrial support organizations, and selected public libraries.

Articles on the following areas of interest are featured in the newly released issue:

  • the "Mainland/Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA);

  • the story of a leading local software developer of the point-of-sales system for restaurants and hotels;

  • experts' advice on starting businesses (extracted from a seminar organised by SUCCESS);

  • Hong Kong's footwear industry;

  • the new Innovative Product Development Assistance Scheme of the Innovation and Technology Fund;

  • Invest Hong Kong's "Relaunch Hong Kong Programme"; and

  • the Quality Tourism Services Scheme of the Hong Kong Tourism Board.

"The Pulse", a Chinese newsletter published once every six months, is also available in soft copy (www.success.tid.gov.hk). First published in late 2002, the newsletter aims to help SMEs keep pace with the ever changing business environment and major public policies and support measures which are conducive to the development of SMEs.
