Seminar on "Equity Financing"

The Support and Consultation Centre for SMEs (SUCCESS) of the Trade and Industry Department will, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Productivity Council's SME Centre, and Metro Finance, organise a seminar on "Equity Financing" on September 17. Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) operators are welcome to attend.

The seminar will be held from 2.30 pm to 5 pm at the Exhibition Hall, 4/F, HKPC Building, 78 Tat Chee Avenue, Kowloon (MTR Kowloon Tong Station Exit C1).

The seminar will provide information on the types of equity financing available, including public listing or otherwise. At the seminar, Mrs. Lau Law Siu Hung, Chairman, Hong Kong Venture Capital Association, will explain what venture capitalists would look for when identifying investment targets and strategic partners. Also, participants will learn from Mr. Phillip Kan, Vice-Chairman, International Business Brokers Association (Greater China Chapter), how to expand businesses through mergers and acquisitions.

Ms. Christine Lie, Vice President, China Development and Listing Promotion, Exchange Business, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, will set out the listing requirements of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and the Growth Enterprise Market. Mr. Philip Wan, Executive Director & Head of Corporate Finance, Core Pacific-Yamaichi Capital Limited, will explain how to evaluate whether a company is ready for listing, and the listing procedures.

The seminar will be conducted in Cantonese. Admission is free of charge. Interested parties are requested to register with the Trade and Industry Department.
